Clinical Therapist

Philosophy

"Being human is not hard because you're doing it wrong, it's hard because you're doing it right. You will never change the fact that being human is hard, so you must change your idea that it was ever supposed to be easy." - Glennon Doyle

Life can be chaotic, random and weird, a huge part of therapy is learning to find balance, and what balance is is entirely up to you. Two conflicting things can be true at the same time,  life can be hard, and you can be doing it right.  Body positivity is not all or nothing. Being neurodivergent can be a strength and a huge hurdle. Trauma can impact you and not define you.

Carly supports clients as they overcome challenges, celebrate success, and navigate life. She has a compassionate and direct style in the therapy room. She loves her cats, Taylor Swift, and is always up for a good charcuterie board or a trip to the aquarium.

Experience

Carly received her Bachelors degree in Psychology at Azusa Pacific University. She then began working at an eating disorder treatment center and was inspired to return to APU to receive a Master’s degree in Social Work. Since graduate school, she has developed specialized skills in treating eating disorders, trauma, neurodivergence and is trained in EMDR Therapy.
