We Can Help You Find a Therapist

It’s a new year and you decided it’s time that you finally find a therapist. Every week it’s on your to do list but it never gets checked off. You have no idea where to begin finding care and you don’t understand how your insurance works anyway. And once you call, what are you even supposed to ask?

The good news is it’s totally okay to not have any answers before reaching out for therapy.

It is our job to learn more about you, provide answers to questions you don’t even know you have, and do all of the heavy lifting.

Here is what you can expect from our process on a human level. We value individuality, collaboration and building trust when handling new inquiries.

Individuality

Equilibrium is a center where all identities are celebrated. In order to be neurodivergent and LGBTQIA affirming, we must learn about and value the individuality of members in those communities.

This looks like… getting to know our clients' specific preferences through open-ended questions and a fluid process. For some, this looks like a lengthy phone call. For others, we communicate via email based on their preference. We know that seeking support can be a vulnerable process. By being flexible in our process, we can ensure that we are meeting clients where they are. Also, our inquiry team has a deep understanding of our therapists’ strengths and specialties which allow us to make personalized recommendations.

Collaboration

Our inquiry process involves collaboration with the potential client, their family and our team.

This looks like…asking questions about your needs, financial situation and insurance policy so we can find the best possible fit. We work with you and the therapist to ensure the best fit - you get a say in this process too! We want to hear what type of therapy/therapist you are looking for and if you’ve tried treatment before what has worked and what hasn’t. We also partner with a large referral network of nearby clinicians we trust in case the best fit is not our center. Our biggest goal is to avoid gatekeeping and ensure you receive the most appropriate care.

Building Trust

We aim to be timely and reliable in our responses to new inquiries. Our inquiry space is a judgment free zone - there are no wrong or silly questions.

This looks like…transparency about fees, insurance and our center specialties upfront. Before even calling, a potential client can review these details, our team bios and blogs on our website. We also value and emphasize lived experience among our therapists. When you review our website materials or meet with a clinician for a consultation, you can expect transparency about their specialties and your fit.

We know that reaching out for therapy is the first step in a multi-step vulnerable experience and we’re excited and honored to hold space for you. We’re a small, close-knit center and are ready to welcome you into our community. We are creative, colorful, unique individuals who aim to hold space for those who feel a little outside of the box themselves.

This week, let us help you cross off “Find a therapist” from your to-do list.

All you need to know is that you or your teen needs help, support, guidance or a safe space. We’ll take it from there.

Logistically, here are some ways you can contact us. You can fill out our inquiry form, send us a general email at info@equilibriumcs.com, call or TEXT us at 909-331-0863. If you want to learn more about our fees and insurance policy, visit this page and use our benefits checker by Mentaya.
