Your teen’s mental health matters.
The time between childhood and adulthood (aka adolescence) is a wonderful, difficult, ever-changing time of evolution, exploration, and uncertainty. While it’s common for all of us to experience challenges during this period of our life, sometimes those challenges grow into depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.
Roughly one in ten children are diagnosed with depression, anxiety, or ADHD before the age of 18. These disorders can have wide-ranging effects on teens and their families, leading to difficulties in school, relationships, and at home. Sadly, suicide is currently the 4th leading cause of death for teens between the ages of 15 and 19.
It is common for teenagers in need of mental health support to:
feel frustrated or angry
become withdrawn
feel or seem lonely
lash out at authority figures
disconnect from their loved ones
For parents and caregivers, this can be a challenging and painful cycle where everything you’re trying just doesn’t seem to work. If this is you - you’re in the right place.
Therapy for teens can help.
Here at ECS, we understand the signs of mental health challenges as teens seeking clarity and connection. We know that teens do best when they have a space to be seen, heard, and guided to understanding their own unique voice and story so that they can communicate more clearly with their loved ones. Many teens are fundamentally struggling to articulate their thoughts and feelings to the people who love them - therapy can help your entire family to manage the impact of your teen’s mental health.
Investing in your teens mental health is investing in their future.
We help teenagers to develop self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and communication skills.
Therapy with teens includes opportunities to explore identity, name needs, set boundaries, and develop self-advocacy.
Over time, your teen will start to build self-confidence and skills they can use in their relationships for the rest of their life.
