Flex Your Feelings Tween Group (7th & 8th graders)

For tweens feeling overwhelmed by their emotions

It’s not a new fact that the tween years are especially challenging to navigate. As adults, we might forget that our tweens experience all the same feelings we do (i.e., stress, sadness, embarrassment, or anger) but without the skills and practice to work through these tricky emotions. Maybe you have recognized that your middle schooler has challenges:

  • Expressing their emotions

  • Communicating their needs or feelings

  • Shutting down or showing emotional reactivity

  • Self-isolation, shyness, low self-esteem

  • Difficulty making friends

Or maybe it is just more of a challenge to connect deeply with your middle schooler these days.

Led by Claire Craddick, AMFT

Flex Your Feelings Group will help your middle schooler:

  • Learn life-lasting skills and strategies to navigate the inevitable stressors of early adolescence

  • Explore their inner experiences and emotions

  • Learn the importance and purpose of emotions

  • Increase the emotional language to express themselves

  • Increase connection with themselves and others

  • Reduce symptoms of low self-esteem, depression, and anxiety

  • Increase mindfulness, awareness, and self-compassion

Most importantly, this therapy group offers a safe and supportive space to practice these skills with their peers.
