Group Therapy Provides Connection and Community

Here at ECS, we build community, reduce isolation, and provide spaces for young people to connect with others who share their lived experiences in our weekly groups. All of our groups are run by experienced licensed mental health professionals who specialize in teen and young adult mental health.

Our groups are tailored towards young people who want or need:

  • a safe place to come for social support

  • an environment to practice communication skills learned in individual therapy

  • a creative outlet to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors

  • a group of friends who “get it”

  • regular check-ins with a mental health professional after graduating from individual therapy

Group Therapy Helps Young People Connect and Heal

In all our mental health groups for teens and young adults, the goal is to connect, be seen, and practice tools to improve communication, emotion regulation, and self-awareness.

At ECS, we know that emotion doesn’t always come out through words. That’s why group is fun, engaging, and creative. We regularly use a variety of mediums including paint, collages, masks, music, colors, and aromatherapy to assist group members with self-expression. We prioritize creating an environment where all group members can connect (with or without words) and be exposed to new forms of self-expression.
